Quality Assurance Engineer - REST API (m/f/d)

Your tasks

As QA Engineer, you will responsible for assuring excellent quality and usability of our next generation e-commerce system for SMBs. Your responsibilities include the following:

  • Monitoring the performance for our e-commerce webshop software consisting of REST API resources and web frontends
  • Black box testing our microservice based e-commerce REST API
  • Ensure proper usage of our API by clients and apps developed inhouse (Beyond storefront, checkout and commerce cockpit, payment apps)
  • Writing and maintaining API and regression tests in Java and Kotlin together with your team
  • You are embedded in one of our agile backend development teams, but are also working closely with other teams that are working on the product

Your profile

  • Experience in black box testing within web development or e-commerce
  • Experience in defining and running regression tests for APIs and UIs
  • Familiarity of code version control or even better, experience working with Git
  • Basic Docker, Kubernetes knowledge
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Ruby, Bash, Python)
  • Experience in planning and preparation of automated tests (using Selenium WebDriver, Node.js, Mocha, and JavaScript) for both desktop and mobile browser as well as API testing
  • Good experience administering Linux systems and deployment (virtual machines)
  • Experience in planning and execution of performance and stress tests (eg. JMeter or Gatling) as part of Continuous Integration   
  • Ability to communicate within the team efficiently and provide comprehensive details of issues encountered thus allowing quick resolution of bugs/issues within Sprint

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration (e.g. CircleCI, Jenkins) and tools like Gatling, JMeter or Docker
  • Experience in working within agile team and delivering value to team promptly
  • Talent in finding edge case bugs through manual testing using different devices, browsers and a REST client
  • Helm knowledge
